A 1st decade of innovation, growth and success

Our company was founded around ten years ago, in 2014, with one vision in mind: to support companies on their journey into the digital future with the help of the Microsoft Cloud. Today, we look back with pride and gratitude on a decade full of challenges, successes and valuable experiences.

The beginnings: A leap into the unknown

In 2014, when cloud technologies were still uncharted territory for many companies, we decided to take this bold step. With a handful of dedicated employees and a clear goal of helping companies get started with the Microsoft Cloud, we laid the foundations for the company we are today.

The first few years were anything but easy: we had to assert ourselves against established competitors, build trust and at the same time keep abreast of the latest technological developments. But our enthusiasm for the Microsoft Cloud and the trust of our first customers drove us forward.

Milestones and highs

Our growth is reflected in many milestones:

• 2014: Start in Glattbrugg in a small office with two employees
• 2015: Move to a new office in Wallisellen, first employees join the company
• 2016: The first customers take the plunge into the cloud with us and use Office 365
• 2017: Microsoft Teams picks up speed, first customers are also looking at Azure solutions
• 2018: In Switzerland, it will be possible to make calls to the public network with Teams towards the end of 2018; we will be one of the first to do so and our Kontakt Synch product will be born
• 2019: We now offer the complete Microsoft range as a CSP licence partner for our customers, we also sell SaaS-based backup solutions for Office 365 and are starting out as a telecoms provider
• 2020: Teams telephony is ‘humming’, the COVID pandemic is accelerating this further and many customers want to move to the cloud as quickly as possible
• 2021: The German subsidiary is added, including telephony for Germany and a further 60 countries
• 2022: We start the development of add-ons for Microsoft Teams with Easy Call Report v1 and Easy Directory – the Teams phone book
• 2023: Microsoft is definitely saying goodbye to the Gold and Silver Partners, the new partner model has ‘arrived’, we hold 5 designations and various specialisations
• 2024: Relocation to a larger office, we are ISO 27001 certified, the Easy Mobile Connect solution is introduced, Easy Call Report v2 is launched, first steps with CoPilot 365 and Azure AI for customers
• 2025: We’ll see where the road takes us – there are still many exciting tasks ahead

The challenges: Low points and lessons learnt

Not everything always went according to plan. There were and still are difficult times that characterize us:

• Technological complexity: The rapidly advancing technology required constant training and adaptation. Mistakes and setbacks were always part of the learning process – nobody is perfect
• Competition: The market for cloud services is becoming increasingly competitive. Differentiation and a strong customer focus are becoming decisive success factors
• Employees/cultural change: It is becoming increasingly difficult to compete when it comes to finding new colleagues. Established players and large companies are increasingly utilizing their economies of scale. As an SME, you also have to constantly adapt and reinvent yourself here.

This success would not have been possible without the trust of our customers, the support of our partners and the tireless efforts of our team. Every customer has helped us to become better and every project has been an opportunity to grow.

A look into the future

The journey is far from over. With our experience and commitment, we want to continue to help companies realise the full potential of the Microsoft Cloud. We look forward to shaping the next ten years together with our customers and partners.

Move to new office premises in Wallisellen

In September 2024, we reached an important milestone: the move to a larger, more modern and brighter office at Richtiring 26, 8304 Wallisellen. This new location offers us more space to further develop our innovative cloud solutions and expand our team.

New Website

At the same time, we have comprehensively modernized our online presence for Twincap First’s 10th anniversary. Our new website twincapfirst.ch presents our comprehensive range of services to support your digital transformation in a clear structure. The content is not only available in German, but also in English for our international clientele.

Further development of our popular Teams add-ons

The highlights of this year also include the further development of our Microsoft Teams add-ons. Solutions such as Easy Directory, Easy Call Report and Contact Sync have established themselves as indispensable tools for making communication and work processes more efficient.

We have also introduced Easy Mobile Connect, a new product that improves the mobility and accessibility of Teams users. It allows Teams calls to be answered directly on the cell phone without the Teams app having to be installed. Customers can use Teams phone numbers directly on a mobile device – a seamless convergence of landline and mobile.

ISO 27001:2022 security certification

We are also proud to have received our ISO 27001:2022 certification in December 2024. Among other things for the development and operation of our own SaaS solutions. The globally applied standard for the certification of an information security management system is ISO/IEC 27001, which aims to ensure the protection of information based on an analysis of business risks relating to confidentiality, integrity and availability and is audited and certified annually by external auditors.
