Efficient Use of AI in Business: How to Turn the Hype into Real Business Value
Artificial intelligence is shaping today’s economy like almost no other technology, which is why nearly every executive suite feels the urgency to address this ...

A few weeks ago, we’ve been discussing an uncomfortable truth: Purchasing a Microsoft license is by no means a “Modern Work” strategy. A license is merely a toolbox. But what happens when that toolbox is packed to the brim, yet your team still finds itself facing closed doors in their day-to-day work? Many Swiss SMEs invest vast amounts of money in complex IT projects, while the most basic things are falling apart behind the scenes. This is exactly where we come in. Because here at TwinCap First, we’re convinced that modern IT infrastructure for an SME doesn’t have to be complicated or unaffordable. That’s why we deliberately do things differently – and turn the traditional IT mindset on its head.
In many companies, the focus is understandably on new projects, applications, or innovations. At the same time, the fundamentals of IT often take a back seat. Yet it is precisely these fundamentals that determine how reliably and efficiently employees can work day to day.
Time and again, we see companies caught between two extremes: on the one hand, highly standardized solutions that offer little flexibility for individual requirements. On the other hand, there are elaborate custom projects that create more complexity than necessary for everyday challenges. Yet most companies don’t need an IT landscape that’s as complicated as possible. They need a stable, secure, and affordable foundation that works reliably and can be adapted to the company’s operational needs.
That’s exactly where our philosophy comes in. We believe in pragmatic solutions that deliver real value in everyday operations – solutions that are easy to operate, grow with the company, and offer sufficient flexibility when requirements change. This approach isn’t just for SMEs; larger organizations also benefit from a clear structure and a stable technological foundation on which further projects and innovations can be reliably built.

To understand how we operate, it helps to take a look at our corporate philosophy. Imagine a pyramid standing on its tip. While traditional service providers start at the very top with expensive specialized projects and neglect the foundation, we begin exactly the opposite way – at the lowest point of the pyramid, with what we call “commodity” (basics / core services).
By “commodity,” we mean the absolute foundation of your daily work: identity management, email, data backups, security, and communication. These areas are rarely the focus of an IT project, but they’re crucial for a smooth workday. They must function reliably: stably, securely, and as unobtrusively as possible.
That’s why we deliberately rely on standardized and proven solutions in this area. Through clear standards, automation, and the targeted use of established technologies, we create a solid foundation that can be operated efficiently and managed easily. The advantage: less complexity, more stable operations, and a foundation on which further projects and innovations can be implemented much more easily. Because the stronger the foundation, the more freedom there is to focus on the areas that truly drive your business forward.
A stable and standardized infrastructure is the foundation of every modern IT environment today. Proven technologies, clear standards, and automated processes ensure security, stability, and efficient operation.
At the same time, real-world experience shows that every company has its own unique requirements. Processes differ, responsibilities are organized differently, and expectations regarding communication and collaboration also vary from company to company.
That is precisely why we take a pragmatic approach. We rely on standardized technologies as a foundation and supplement them where additional needs arise in day-to-day operations. This keeps the solution manageable, cost-effective, and closely aligned with the company’s actual requirements.
Our Microsoft certifications confirm our technical expertise. Even more important to us, however, is that solutions work in everyday use and create real added value for employees. That’s why we place great value on personalized support, short communication channels, and collaboration on an equal footing.
A good example of this is Microsoft Teams telephony. The Microsoft standard already covers many requirements. However, additional needs often arise in daily use – for example, regarding availability, call routing, reporting, or customer service. We developed our Easy products specifically for situations like these. They specifically complement Microsoft Teams in areas where companies need additional support in their day-to-day operations.
This results in solutions based on proven standards that also offer enough flexibility to effectively meet a company’s specific needs. Our Easy products are developed in Switzerland and are based on the experiences and requirements we gather together with our customers in their day-to-day operations.
Only when this foundation of stable commodity services (Core Services) is rock-solid does the next step make any sense at all. Many companies are dreaming of artificial intelligence, automated processes, and Microsoft 365 Copilot in 2026. But AI is only as good as the data it accesses.
Anyone who tries to build artificial intelligence on an unstructured, insecure foundation creates digital chaos. We first ensure that your data flows smoothly and that access permissions are correct. Once that’s done, we’ll work together to take it to the next level and integrate smart workflows that noticeably free your team from routine administrative tasks.
Our philosophy can be summed up simply: Technology should support day-to-day work, not make it more complicated. That’s why we rely on a stable and proven foundation that works reliably and can grow alongside a company’s needs. Where standards make sense, we apply them consistently. Where additional requirements arise in day-to-day operations, we seek pragmatic and appropriate solutions.
For us, the focus isn’t on the technology itself, but on the people who work with it every day. Our goal is to make IT understandable, reduce complexity, and support companies as a reliable long-term partner.
