Olma Messen St.Gallen creates emotions and brings people together. With its trade fairs and over 100 events held on its premises every year, it ensures encounters and exchanges and contributes to a lively Eastern Switzerland.

Their work is characterized by their passion for trade fairs and events. They are constantly developing their trade fairs and establishing new formats for different target groups. In the area of additional business, they identify new sources of income and exploit the potential of trade fairs and events.

Its modern infrastructure and large amount of space offer room for trade fairs, conferences and events of all kinds.

The challenge

The office move of Olma Messen to its new domicile in the newly built St.Galler Kantonalbank Hall should take place by spring 2024.

It was therefore clear that the outdated telephone system should also be migrated to Microsoft Teams by this time in order to avoid moving the existing system and to benefit from the modern, cloud-based communication options.

Particular attention was paid to the quality of the solution and to its introduction and acceptance by users. The aim was to enable team telephony to be implemented step by step with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.

Solution: Teams Telephony from TwinCap First

Olma Messen St.Gallen AG has opted for a centralized telephony solution based on Microsoft Teams and has chosen TwinCap First as its Microsoft Calling Partner.

TwinCap First operates SBC platforms in Microsoft Azure data centers in Asia, Europe and North America. This enables TwinCap First to offer customized flat rates and regional phone numbers in over 60 countries worldwide as a telecommunications provider.

TwinCap First offers a full range of services, as well as numerous useful in-house developments as add-ons for Microsoft Teams users.

Step by step with POC

Olma Messen St.Gallen AG has opted for a tried and tested implementation process and, as a first step, has started with a POC (proof of concept) to thoroughly test the possibilities and functions.

The POC included the use of free test numbers to enable users to operate the system in parallel with the existing system. This meant that productive operation was not affected in any way and functionality and quality could be tested in everyday use without any problems.

Gradual introduction and conversion

After the successful completion of the POC phase, individual users and/or departments were migrated step by step. This “soft” migration enabled a smooth transition for all users. The final step was the porting of the existing provider to TwinCap First.

Working with TwinCap First to implement Microsoft Teams telephony was easy and straightforward. Thanks to their expert advice and uncomplicated support, we were able to put the new solution into operation without any complications.
