In this customer case study, we outline the initial situation, the migration approach (coexistence), the implemented solution, and why Frutiger chose TwinCap First.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-the-frutiger-group-customer-case-study-at-a-glance\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">The \u201cFrutiger Group\u201d Customer Case Study at a Glance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Customer:<\/strong> Frutiger Group (Switzerland and International)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Scope:<\/strong> approximately 2,600 employees, including 700 technical staff with Microsoft Teams accounts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Goal:<\/strong> Standardization of telephony and improved location-independent collaboration via Microsoft Teams<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Solution:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/twincapfirst.ch\/en\/service\/microsoft-teams-telephony\/\" type=\"service\" id=\"7074\">Microsoft Teams telephony<\/a> via the TwinCap First platform (SBC, SIP trunk, etc.), supplemented by caller ID (<a href=\"https:\/\/twincapfirst.ch\/en\/product\/easy-lookup\/\" type=\"product\" id=\"6961\">Easy Lookup<\/a>) and other add-ons (e.g., <a href=\"https:\/\/twincapfirst.ch\/en\/product\/easy-calling\/\" type=\"product\" id=\"49609\">Easy Calling<\/a> or the use of <a href=\"https:\/\/twincapfirst.ch\/en\/product\/easy-mobile-connect\/\" type=\"product\" id=\"6910\">Easy Mobile Connect<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Result:<\/strong> A phased migration without downtime, scalable for multiple locations and users, with reduced complexity, a centralized platform, and reliable support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-initial-situation-two-parallel-telephony-systems\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Initial Situation: Two Parallel Telephony Systems<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Until the end of 2025, the Frutiger Group operated two communication systems in parallel: A small portion of the workforce was already using Microsoft Teams for calls, while the majority remained on a traditional on-site PBX (physical system). This system was connected to another telecom provider via an \u201con-prem\u201d Session Border Controller (SBC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The consequences: redundancy, higher operating costs, and media discontinuities for employees. On the one hand, on-site hardware maintenance incurred high costs. On the other hand, location-independent work, especially for project managers moving between the office and construction sites, became unnecessarily complicated. The goal was therefore clear: a single platform for chat, meetings, documents, and external telephony \u2013 with end-to-end management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-approach-proof-of-concept-for-quality-and-stability\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Approach: Proof of Concept for Quality and Stability<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A project of this magnitude cannot be implemented \u201cat the flip of a switch.\u201d Voice quality, routing, and reliability had to perform under real-world conditions. Therefore, a test environment was set up in 2025, and the connection via TwinCap First\u2019s Direct Routing was extensively tested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This allowed the Frutiger Group to verify that cloud telephony could withstand the demands of everyday construction work.
